cost of a 6 ton ac unit

#32  of 67 brands of central air conditioners 36% of customers recommend Read more about RUUD central air conditioners Location: Long Beach, MS I just took the time to read all these reviews and noticed nearly all seem due to poor installation and horrible pricing on the part of whatever HVAC company these people are using. Rheem isn't the problem. I own 2 Ruuds, both high efficiency. One was installed in 2012, the other in 2015. I've spent well over $1,000 the past few years keeping these things running. Control board, evaporator coil,One still periodically stops cooling. I see many other reviewers had the same issues as I do. I called customer service and they basically threw my installer under the bus. I understand that Ruud is the same as Rheem. I don't ever plan on getting either again. Compressor is junk inside 9 years. Buy a different brand. "Buy a Trane or Lennox" Had the unit for 8 years. Haven't had a year that it didn't need to be
Compressor problems over and over. Wouldn't buy one again and I regret listening to the sales person instead of getting another brand, Sounds like the compressor is done for now and if it is, I won't repair it. I will buy a good window unit like I had for years that never brokeExpensive piece of junk. I'm a contractor that has been installing A/C systems for over 30 years. The biggest problem I run into on problem systems is improperly installed equipment, not manufacturer issues. 90% of all problems stemImproper brazing techniques (not using nitrogen while brazing ) is a major biggie. to manufacturer are pretty much the same. The biggest difference is the quality of workmanship and who installs the equipment, more so than theI read through the complaints and most cases are workmanship issues, not bad equipment. In my experience I have found the manufacturers stand behind their equipment. What a manufacturer can't do is warranty a poor installation for workmanship.
"You can't fix stupid" on the installation side. My recommendation is you pay for what you get. There are no "apples for apples" in my business. If it's cheaper ask yourself a question, what are you not getting that the other quotes areAs in any industry, you pay for quality and experience. Consider this when purchasing not only the product but the service that has to accompany it as well. "Problems with Ruud A/C" My unit is only 2 years old. I also have those defective coils which I understand are no longer being used due to the widespread problems. Because the copper coils leak, I spent $400 to have all the Freon replaced, plus $700 to have the replacement (aluminum) coil installed. Only the coil was covered by warranty. I think this should be handled like an auto recall situation. Ruud should pay for the new coils regardless of the warranty situation, plus the cost of installation andIs a class action suit applicable?
I have had this unit for fifteen years and have never had a serviceI owned a Rheem for eighteen years with one call made in the last year of its life. My next door neighbor has had a Ruud for over twenty years with one service call. All I can say is the next unit will be aHave had the system for less than 8 years, still under warranty. ac units on wheels issue was a design flaw. how can i tell if my ac unit is frozenThey can't repair it, only a band aid. safety switch on ac unit compressor, 3rd now is faulty wiring in the system that somehow is notThe 100% not covered under warranty system is what the warranty certificate should list as title. Taking the time to write this review in order to spare you from a bad purchase.
Now they tell me I have to replace the system at an additional cost of $5000. March 2012 - Purchased equipment, $ 4,000. April 2014 - Isolation test $425, replaced the evaporator coil, $799. December 2015 - Replaced TXV valve, pump down and recharge, $799. Total of $2,023 in repairs = 57% of original cost spent in less than 3 years! Also spent more money on annual checkups and diagnostic visit. Save 70% on your annual water heating costs. Let the Chiltrix chiller built-in water heating function be your primary source of hot water and get a discount of 70% or more on water heating costs. We use a variable speed DC-Inverter compressor that reduces the CX30 heating or cooling output by reducing its speed at times when full capacity is not needed. As the compressor speed decreases, so does the compressor’s energy use. When measured on an annual basis, the average energy savings produced by the variable capacity compressor alone reflects up to 30-40 percent savings. We also use a variable speed (VSD) pump for the hydronic loop circulation. When full water flow is not needed due to off-peak capacity requirements, the water pump slows down and uses less energy. The variable speed pump and variable speed compressor work in tandem with a microcontroller using a special algorithm to keep the compressor and pump both working at the optimum speed. This allows the two primary consumers of electrical power within the chiller to operate at the lowest power level required to meet the current load.
Dynamically controlling the water pump speed and compressor speed independently of each other helps us to achieve the highest levels of performance. In addition, Chiltrix offers DC-Inverter indoor fan coil units further reducing electrical power consumption (along with lower sound levels). Working together, the variable speed compressor, variable speed pump, and variable speed indoor units all operate at the most efficient level of power consumption possible to meet the demand. from 25% to 100%, the CX30 is always exactly the right size for the job. Under varying real-world conditions the CX30 chiller can efficiently operate at the capacity needed and can achieve up to 40-50% electrical savings each year compared to a standard chiller or air conditioner.Use our optional Psychrologix™ psychrometric chiller controller to dynamically manage humidity and automatically adjust the parameters of the chiller in realtime, for an off-the-charts increase in efficiency when dehumidification is not needed.
DHC (Dynamic Humidity Control) can automatically lower the indoor unit coil temperatures to quickly remove any humidity increase. When humidity is within acceptable limits, the system will dynamically reconfigure itself to the most efficient possible operating parameters allowing the chiller to run well above its rated efficiency. The Psychrologix™ chiller control option also adds a wide range of programmable and automated features in addition to DHC. See the full Psychrologix™ chiller control details here. The Chiltrix chiller can also connect to a hot water tank and provide domestic hot water, summer or winter. But, small chillers have historically been unable to provide a strong ROI due to high equipment costs and unrealized efficiency potential.Meet the Chiltrix modular chiller family where we have chillers as small as 2 tons, with a IPLV cooling COP above 5 and NPLV heating COP of nearly 6. Installed system costs are about the same as a regular air conditioner. Save 40% or more on utility costs. The CX30 can run on less energy than a SEER 30 system. And you can save even more when you use the CX30 for water heating. This is not your daddy's chiller. Old news: Chillers are only for large systems of 30 tons or more. Chiltrix chillers start at 2/2.5 tons. And they are variable capacity, so they can run as low as half-ton at times when that's all that is needed. Old news: Chillers are expensive to buy. An installed Chiltrix chiller system costs no more than a standard AC system. Old news: Chillers only provide cooling, you need a boiler for heat. Chiltrix chillers are reverse cycle chillers (heat pumps) and can provide heat down to -14F (-25C) They can also connect to an existing boiler system and serve as a lower cost primary heat source.
