I was going to have central air installed but the wife said that another window unit will suffice. This window unit replaces a 10 yr old Frigidaire unit that worked wonders during our muggy Missouri summers. The wife was a little sceptical when i unwrapped the box from the unit. This unit was smaller than the old one. I told her not to worry. Smaller more efficient units is the thing now. After installing and letting it run, i was a little sceptical too! I had it shipped to my local Walmart store, and I picked it up there. The shipping box was in good shape, and when I unpacked it and found a slight dent in the outer fins. I had a friend install it because I am disabled, and it was easy to do. This air conditioner cooled down a combination of living room, dining room, and kitchen quite fast, and reached down the hall towards the bedrooms, which is about 700 square feet. It is a little noisy, but I will take that to get superb cooling. It does get quite hot in north central Texas. The air gets very cold, and with the ionizer, the air smells and feels fresh. It will fit a window opening of 19 inches, which is great.

When looking for a new air conditioner, I would suggest you research it well, and read the customer reviews. I would definitely recommend it. This one does a good job, does almost my whole downstairs in a 1000 sq foot home, so say about 600 sq ft. with a fan to direct the air around. The temp has been up in the high 90's all week and it has been working like it should. ....97cents...woo hoo...delivered into my foyer! no dragging it in and out of the car...the best part for me. I came in good condition unlike other people who had a problem with dented blades in the back. Easy to unpack as the box top lifted right up, can even save the box for storage. the only problem i had were the directions weren't really clear about attaching the side screens and I ended up with extra parts that i didn't know what to do with till afterwards and I wasn't taking it back out of the window...didn't affect usage of the air conditioner.

I officially went back to a window A/C. Well, after reading all the other good reviews I bought this. It did arrive with a dent on the top and the front with a little crack and slightly detached(nothing tape won't fix). I didn't want to take it back because we are now in our 3rd heatwave of the summer!! and they took 10% off for the damage. Anyway, this baby keeps my entire apartment cool even with temps above 95 for days. I would recommend this to anyone. It has been running full blast since I have gotten it and it doesn't get condensation on it and has yet to freeze up. It has a nice compact n sleek look, n kools the room perfectly. I have a avarage size studio apartment n before buyin this unit i was using 5000 BTU unit which was unable to kool the whole room easily and properly n for that reason its compressor used to work all the time, while this unit is 12000 BTU so it kools the room pretty easily n temprature sensing remote is also nice addition, when room meets required temprature the compressor goes off n only fan stay on, fan aslo has an AUTO mode to adjust its speed accordin to the temprature of the room. So far i've used it only for one day coz weather is quite nice so dont use it daily. Its not that Noisy as some people mentioned in their remarks n its sound is actually Quite normal. The thing i liked is its air throw which is so perfect i can feel the air in the whole room. Easy to install n Operate. Its loud, even when set up properly and econ mode can be pretty difficult to listen to when you are sleeping. I generally just leave it on cool all night because otherwise econ will have it turning off and on all night long, which causes me to wake up when it happens. The thermostat on the remote is not necessarily accurate either, so it is best to just set it at a specific temp and let it run its course. This is perfect for a medium to large bedroom, which is where I have this. It is also in an upstairs bedroom. This is a heavy unit, which would require two people to situate and put in. Also, be sure to situate the side panels prior to putting it in the window, because it has to be done properly or the panels will come loose. It is fine for the money and does an adequate job cooling in WV, although Im not too sure how it would do in lower in the US. Nice, clean and easy to read screen and remote. I got this air conditioner about 2 weeks ago after struggling to decide whether I should buy it or not.

The weather has been so HOT and humid this year, I just broke down and said I HAD to have it. I ordered it on a Tuesday and was told it would take 10 days to get it but on Thursday of the same week it was delivered. And with the shipping almost free, that was great timing!! OK, so on that Saturday my husband just set it in the window. It's kind of heavy, but not so heavy we couldn't just shut the window on it and it was very stable. Turned it on, we went out to lunch and when we got back to the house about 2 hours later, the house was SO nice!!!! It is a ranch house - 860 square feet with an open living, dinning, kitchen concept, but the bedrooms are around the corner and they were nice and cool too. SO glad I bought it!! It's a little loud, but you get used to it after a while. Funny thing though, now that we bought it, the weather has cooled off. Oh well, at least we know when we need it, it does a great job.
