How can I tell if a thermostat is bad? Where can you find air brake system diagrams for tractor trailers? Where can you buy an Idylis humidifier? What are central pneumatic air compressors? How do you fix an air conditioner that is not cooling? Where can you purchase a Living Pure heater?Written Normal ACs (non inverter) work in the following wayThe AC compressor runs continuously till set temperature is reached in the roomThe compressor then switches off, but the blower fan in the wall mounter unit keeps running. Durint this time the AC fan blows air out at Room temperature (which feels warmer)When temperature of room rises then compressor starts running again. During theis period the air coming out from the inner uny is cooled by the condenser coilsAnd the process is repeated.... as long as you keep AC runningAc works this way throught the operation period. Now if you feel that your AC keeps switching off and on very frequently check the followingYour AC may be over powered for room *for example a 1.5 ton AC installed in a scenario where 1 ton is enough)If there is voltage fluctuation in your area then the compressor may keep shutting don on large voltage swingsSolution: Get a StabilizerYou have set the temperature setting too high.

Max temp suggested for ACs is 25 degree Celsius, any higher will mean the compressor shuts down often. Remember every compressor shutdown and startup draws a high starting currentSet AC temperatures between 22 and 24 degrees CelsiusThe thermostat/ Temperature sensor is faultyGet unit inspected by Authorized technicianThere is dust buildup on the outer unit / compressor unit. The dust buildup may cause overheating by preventing efficient heat exchange, This may lead to overheating of compressor and it shuts down to, prevent damage to itselfGet unit serviced by Authorized technicianThe fan motor of the outer unit is not working properlyGet unit inspected by Authorized technicianRemember to get the AC serviced at least thrice a year to ensure smooth operationCool Thoughts... Written Its simply coz when the compressor is on you get the cold air. When compressor is of you get hot air.In the cycle fan keeps on running in standard ACs and compressor works on/off cycle.Written Sounds like your Thermostat satisfies but leaves the fan on to keep circulation going.

If this happens without much time between cycles you might want to find large heat sources or opening to the unconditioned spaces which could cause short cycling. There is also the possibility you have an oversized unit or the thermostat is going bad.Written You should put it on auto. That way when the temperature reaches whatever it is set on it will stop.I am thinking you have central ac so correct me if I am wrong. I have had my share of problems with ac units over the years and it is a must for Miami. My ac unit just clicked on and the air comes right on me.If all else fails read the directions. I will show a picture of the thermostat box and explain how it works. I wish I was there because I could show you in a second. If you have a friend or neighbor you think knows what they are doing you could ask them.If you listen you can hear when the cold air will start again because there will be a faint click.Let me know how this goes. and yes you better already have the thing installed that this slips into otherwise you'll be buying one since this really needs something in the wall to slip into. Both valid concerns, neither were mine since we figured out the A/C installation and we had a chassis already in place. BUT OH MY GOD this is the NOISIEST air conditioner I have EVER seen or heard. We've had many, the last being an Emerson, but I have never ever heard something THIS LOUD. I use to have my desk 10 ft from the old Emerson, no problem. I now have had to rearrange my entire living and dining room to move my desk to the furthermost area, where the dining table was and next to the bar into the kitchen, some 45 ft away, and it is STILL TOO LOUD. Today I woke up with a headache from it overnight, it has continued, and now I don't even use it because it only brings back the headache. My hubby said 'no returning it' but when he is gone I am un-installing it and even without the box (good luck keeping the box together when you have to rip it apart to get to it, and I will find me another brand that fits into my chassis... but NEVER EVER an ARCTIC KING again.

If you buy this, and you plan to spend any amount of time in the room this is operating, then I warned you.... And the pix, I am sitting at my desk and that thing way over there - that is the A/C and its TOO LOUD even from way over here. Yes (5) No (1) Report Yes (5) No (1) Verified purchaser this was billed as a window/wall unit. it is a wall unit that requires a sleeve and a hole in the wall to mount the A/C. also we wanted a 110 volt unit but this is a 220. I have to wire the building for 220volt. luckily I can do that since only a shell exists now. the sleeve is a different deal. I called the customer service number listed in the instruction manual. I had to buy a sleeve for $50 plus $30 shipping. rather that repack the unit and go through the hassle of returning it, I just paid the 80 bucks... BTW the manual has info for 7-8 units of different names and measurements. it only says Arctic King on the front cover and in the back on the warranty card. the measurements do not match any of brands in the inside and none have anything to do with a window mounted unit.

this may be a great unit but right now I'm waiting for the sleeve. if a friend asked I would tell him to be aware of the extra costs Yes () No (2) Report Yes () No (2) Verified purchaser We just purchased, received, and installed this unit. We were very pleased that it comes with a smaller 220 plug, not the large dryer style plug. If you are planning on installing this in a window, be prepared. It says window/through the wall, however does not come with any of the standard parts or screw holes for window installation. You will need to employ some creative engineering. Ours is in a standard double hung vinyl window, with about a 15in open height. The specs say this is only 14.5in high, not so much. We had to take out the main sash. We will also be purchasing an ac support, heavy duty. The installation manual includes directions for 9 different wall sleeves. It was also shipped with an interior trim frame, and lots of the foam seals, in various shapes and sizes for installation as well as 2 rear grills.

My best guess is one goes on the unit the other is to replace in a sleeve. I tried to research this product on line before purchase and came up empty handed. For the cost and features, I'm quite pleased. We needed an AC/Heat unit and other options we've looked at in the past were too small for our room and twice the cost. I've seen this model on other site for close to $600. For what it's worth we're in the south, high temps and high humidity, and within minutes of turning on the unit, our room was cool. I won't comment on the noise level, only because I've never had a unit this large. It's also in the only window in our room next to the TV. I will say there isn't excessive vibrations, or rattling. Really a great unit for the price. Yes () No (1) Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser Voltage is misrepresented as 115. It is actually 230. I had to do rewiring to make it work so be prepared. This is a wall unit, not a window unit. It did not come with window slides so after a lot of retrofitting, we made it work after spending another $100 and a few hours of time.

Other than that, the unit seems to be working fine. So far I have only installed one and my house is already staying cool in this hundred degree heat. So other than the installation, I am satisfied with my purchase. Yes (4) No (0) Report Yes (4) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser W needed an AC for our living room and for the price we got I wasn't sure what to expect BUT Happy surprise it's an amazing purchase. It really works to cool down our space. Definitely recommend this to anyone. Yes () No (2) Report Yes () No (2) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser Like the way the air is directed into the room. Wish the wall mount sleeve would just be included and shipped with the unit. Yes (4) No (0) Report Yes (4) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I was in ahh with the item description and other customer reviews but the description wasn't very specific about the electrical wattage (or wasn't very clear to me) . 1. The 3 prong plug is a special type that it wont fit most common electrical outlets and 2.

The watt specifications was not clear to me (unless you know about all that sort of stuff) bottom line i couldn't install it because i would have to add a circuit breaker and add an additional outlet to handle the watt output this ac takes. Know your electrical mumbo jumbo before you buy this. had a good price, it's in a 400' room, so should be really cold. Heater works, but it's summer time so didn't run it much. Only disappointment is that this model didn't come with expandable sides, which I thought it did. Yes (7) No (2) Report Yes (7) No (2) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I love this unit. I replaced a portable unit that would not even cool, the room. It cools my room from 85 down to 75 in 1/2 hour. the energy saver feature is great. I would never buy another unit without it. I didn't realize it was a wall unit but I installed it in a window anyhow. I hope it lasts a few years.
