2 Cooling operation never gets below 78 degrees even when run all day) I bought one of these units for an exterior home office. I vented the unit, but when cooling it doesn't get below 78 F no matter what I set the temp to and even if I run it all day. My office has zero airflow, no HVAC ducts, R19 insulation all around, and when I turn on the cooling setting, if I stand next to the door casing, I can feel where warm air is coming in. It is very little, and the weather outside is only in the mid-80s, but could this little bit of air leaking in be the reason that it will not cool below 78? I bought some weather stripping, but wasn't sure if the unit needed some amount of positive air pressure to operate. 1 Will this product be effective to cool a screened in porch area that is about 650 sq ft? 2 Can you run each mode independently? For example, can you run the a/c mode without the dehumidification running? I lost the manual so i dont know what problem flashing "stop" means

Such would be normal operation. If the code appears, and the tank has already been emptied, then the machine may require service. Is there a way to drain the lower tank by using the upper drain hose? I am having to empty the lower tank about every 16 hours. It's very inconvenient and I'm thinking about returning this unit bc of this. I have to unhook it and take it outside for this. If we have understood your inquiry correctly, the end point of the drain pipe that fits into the upper drain port on the LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR will not fit into the lower drain port.

If you are looking to attach a drain hose to the bottom drain port, you will need to purchase a drain hose that has an inner diameter of 18 mm (11/16") that is long enough for you to either place it's open end in a suitable drain location or to drain it to the outside. The upper drain is for what purpose?  It seems to drain nowhere? The purposes for both drains and how to use them on your LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR are fully explained on pages 22 and 25 of your owner's manual. The Bottom drain is used for draining water when you are using the heating function and the Upper drain is used for emptying the internal Water Collection Tank when it gets full and your display shows "FL" to indicate that it is full and needs to be emptied...^IFV Is there a way to tell if the pump is on in heat mode, other than watching water flow through the tube?  (a light or flash or something?) Other than seeing a confirmation on the display panel of the LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR when you change it to the HEAT mode and the temperature reflected on the display, there is no way to tell if it is on...^IFV

The FL code keeps coming on, I just emptied the tank there was only about 5 Oz of water in the tank. What does this mean.If the FULL TANK indicator continues to display, which drain port is being opened: that which is by the exhaust duct, or that which is at the bottom of the casing. The FL code should indicate the need for draining the LOWER drain port. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. FL Code - draining the waterIf a drain pipe is constantly attached to the upper drain port, and the FL code appears, it is recommended to try draining the lower drain port.
