It was very loud and emitted a large amount of EMFs, making it difficult to sleep at night. I've had this unit for several months now and it has been a life saver. The home I'm renting has a total failure of a cooling and heating unit and that's an understatement. Just got it in today and hooked it up...so far so good!!! Hooked it up and about 5mins later the room dropped 3 degrees....

Cools a 15x20 room fairly well but the review stated it would cool a larger area. We have a open floor plan in the upstairs of a old farm house and were hoping for more. I can't believe that this guy is working so well, but it is wonderful. Consumer Reports rated it as one of the highest (though non of the portables rate much over 70). Did not work and had to return From the start this air-conditioner produced a moldy smell. I did not notice how bad the problem was until I started investigating why the compressor was making such a loud noise... cools a very large upstairs room with four skylights a+ I would like to first say that this unit was much larger than I though it would be. Once I got used to the size I did not mind it. I use it so that my nephew and I could set up his train sets, and hotwheels city sets, etc. and not have to take them down. It uses a regular outlet, and was no fuss to set up. The unit doesn't weigh much, and it doesn't stick out a window which is great because we like the natural light. The dehumidifier, evaporates the moisture, and puts it out the window, and I never had to use the drain on it until this year. The air in my home went out, and I used it to cool a large area and I had to drain it (once). The unit did a great job, and unlike anything I have seen before, it NEVER froze up. I am thankful to have it, and would tell anyone to purchase this unit. The heat on mine is not used often, and has only been used in my fore mentioned building. With that said, it has done a great job. Got a phone call 7:30am Saturday asking if there would be somebody home in 2 hrs to except delivery Wow!!! In house and installed by 10 am Saturday .Oh the unit works great it's getting a good run over this hot sticky Weekend . It is a little noisy comparable to a motel ac unit. Something I quickly got used to while sleeping. I would but this item again. I did the installation from the window start up the machine set the mode for heating cycle, warm air begin to blow from louver but cool air was blowing out of the back of the machine from the vents and where the filter is located. Then it shut down, I restart it, it function in the same matter. I shut it off. Monday morning I contact the manufacturer concerning the issue I explained the problem also that there is no information in the trouble shooting section for the heating operation. They suggest I keep a product that I am not getting service from, I told the representative I refuse to keep any item that's not performing properly.( It malfunction ) Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser First off it is not worth the money. The exhaust hose is very annoying to set up. Once it is on, it wants to pop out the exhaust hose cover. The teeth on the adaptor are very fragile and will break. Some windows are different, so if you don't have the right type of window the cover wont fit right.

The hose itself gets so hot you can feel the heat it is putting off just by standing beside it. The cooling on it is very weak. None of the dials are labeled so you can't even tell what is cool, heat or fan untill you open the book. Better off buying a window unit. Very, very disappointed in this product and the price. I tried to sell this air conditioner because the 30 days was up before I used it and I can't give it away... It's pretty much impossible to drain the water pan and it fills up fast and then it stops and the red light comes on.... I spent one night up and down wrangling with this thing!!!! Not a happy camper at all... You have to tip the A/C in order to let the water run out... I did this for a few days and decided I didn't want to ruin my carpet and in turn have a leaky ceiling...
