Written I would be inclined to doubt it.  An air conditioner is meant to cool things off, and if you're running it, it would very likely be because it's hot outside.  Why make the thing work harder by dragging 90-degree air into it and having it cool that down, as opposed to dragging room air through it, which is likely still cooler than that outside, and cooling that down?The hotter the air that gets forced through an air conditioner, the harder the thing has to work.  Best to seal the air in the room off completely from what's outside.Basically, the point of an air conditioner is to take heat from the inside of the room and dump it out into the outside world.  To do this as efficiently as possible, you want to seal the two off from one another.Written Large commercial air conditioners do bring in fresh air the the building.
