With it resting against the chain link fence, it has support. Love these and the price, also seem to be very good quality. I just haven't had time to install them even though they are pretty simple. I wanted privacy on my 2nd level deck and failed to realize this product is for yard use only due to the stakes needing to be supported in the ground/dirt to stand up. I also believe that once the product is in the ground it may not be as high as some may want it to be to block out certain things.

I have had the first one for a year, and it has held up really well. I purchased another to hide my propane tank.....I live at the lake. So, I am very happy with this purchase. I found Walmart to have the best price. They beat out others by nearly $15. If you need a screen to hide things outside....this is perfect! Note that it is not reversible, or double sided in its construction. In other words, it is simply constructed of thin injection molded panels that are "hollow" on the opposite side from the detailed side that you see in the photos. It's also rather flimsy. I purchased it to hide the trash can and the air conditioner unit in the back of my townhouse. I didn't want to worry about getting a permit to have a permanent fence installed but this is a wonderful alternative. The fence is pretty sturdy if you use the steel rods and put them into the ground. It has held up during some pretty rough storms so far. It's not terribly tall, but I was using it to cover up a pool pump and air conditioning unit--and it does the job for those two items. Not sure how well it will hold up in very windy conditions as the poles which sink into the ground are not very long--but it should be sufficient for most situations.
