This is the second summer using this unit. So far it has performed very well. I really like the vent on the front instead of the top. Was worth getting, bought to have a cold room for my dogs during the summer. Keeps the room at the specified temperature, works even better when you fill up the water reserve. Ac is very noisy and it does have a drain tube that it doesn't mention thankfully I don't use this room all the time so I haven't had to drain it yet. What is this 1990? unit worked great for 2 weeks, then starting shutting down, no water is tank that claims will shut it down, and you can't get any helpfrom the manuf about it. VERY noisy - like being on an airplane. Even if you've just got the fan on "low". No way could I carry on a normal conversation over this thing. The reason I give this unit four stars, is due to the fact that the cooler you run this unit, the more water it produces. It does the job. When I measured it, standing at 5 feet, it came in at 80 decibels (this is with an unscientific iPhone measurement device).
