Condenser units are notorious for collecting leaves and other debris and some of it could be effecting the switch and/or the condenser itself- not allowing for enough heat molecule transfer. Written Its simply coz when the compressor is on you get the cold air.When compressor is of you get hot air.In the cycle fan keeps on running in standard ACs and compressor works on/off cycle.Written Sounds like your Thermostat satisfies but leaves the fan on to keep circulation going. If this happens without much time between cycles you might want to find large heat sources or opening to the unconditioned spaces which could cause short cycling. There is also the possibility you have an oversized unit or the thermostat is going bad.Written You should put it on auto. That way when the temperature reaches whatever it is set on it will stop.I am thinking you have central ac so correct me if I am wrong. I have had my share of problems with ac units over the years and it is a must for Miami. My ac unit just clicked on and the air comes right on me.If all else fails read the directions.
