hide ac window unit

Unit keeps filling water tank every hour straight out the box..how do I fix this problem. Very annoying to keep draining tank What dose the code hc 02 mean. I don't have my owners manualAccording to page 26 of the owner’s manual, the CH02 error is a short or open circuit in the Indoor Pipe Thermistor. The unit will likely require service. How long can I run it? Does it ever need a "break"? I don't want to run it so long that it goes out!It is not a problem to allow the unit to operate indefinitely. The only instance will be when/if the water tank fills. In such a situation, the air conditioner should deactivate itself until the tank is emptied. I have had this ac on all day and it is still hot in our room, what could we be doing wrong? Also how do you get it to stay on cool air without it coming on and off?We would be more than happy to assist in determining the source of this problem. How do I replace the filter? The water is leaking from the machine. The filters are designed to be reusable after being cleaned.
If water is leaking from this machine, then it may require service. How can I clean out the wafter tank? Drained it for first time in 2 yrs and now keeps saying full every few hrs. Think there is scum messing up the internal sensor. This will only occur if there is a high level of humidity in the room. If this matter does not resolve itself soon, then it may be that there is an air leak around a window or door of this room, allowing access to more humid air. My unit is making a loud grinding noise, and not cooling properly, what should i doIf the machine is grinding, then there may possibly be a problem in the fan motor or another related component. After 2 summers, my unit is now blowing warm air. Does it need coolant? If this device is no longer blowing any cold air, then it may require service. 195 posts, read 485,411 times Originally Posted by Ohiogirl81 According to instructions, "Avoid fire hazard or electric shock. Have you actually ever had your AC power supply cord connected to an extension cord? If so, ever had any problems? 29,041 posts, read 27,163,992 times Originally Posted by PacificWest Standard warning to prevent lawsuits, too many people hooking them up to little extension cords that might be OK for a single light. Which in turn cause the extension cord to heat up then melt and most likely start a fire even before the breaker finally pops. 5,058 posts, read 10,689,021 times Yes, the extension cord I use is about 2 feet long and about a half inch in diameter, made expressly for window AC units; I don't know the gauge. I've never had any problems. My other window units are plugged into the wall. At some point soon, though, I'll be having an outlet installed directly under the window for the AC.
