It will do that, but, not for the $47 energy rating per year that it is rated at. It is costing us about $1 per day to run the thing, and we turn it off at night. It's in a Florida Room, that was previously unconditioned, but, is walled in cbs on the back of our home. I thought that in such a hot summer, it might help on cooling costs to cool that room because the room is on the sunny side of the home, and maybe our main unit wouldn't run as much, since that room is hot without the wall unit cooling it. That was a misconception of mine. So, I won't be recommending it to a friend. It uses way more electricity than advertised, just to get that room down to a toasty 80 degrees F. I was extremely surprised how it cooled down my r/v. At times I had to turn it down, due to the fact it got a little too cool for me. That is saying something in the central part of Florida.
