It seems quiet enough for home use and may be better suited for a home system than where I put it. Keeps the cabinet cool and was very easy to assemble. I love that you can adjust the temperature that it turns on/off. Very quiet, you can barely hear it even when the TV is off. I've got a cabinet with two shelf chambers. I installed two of these, one behind each chamber. One is reverse the other, bringing cool air in, hot air out. Works exactly as promised - quiet, efficient. I have my computer tower in a closed cabinet in my kitchen and this thing keeps it cool. I little louder than expected, but does a great job.Quiet is an understatement. You can't hear this fan even with the doors of the cabinet in the open position. Lowered the temperature from 100F to 85F. this is a great fan.
