It is really loud and only cools a small area. This De'Longhi unit is whisper quiet and cools really fast and efficient. I live in the desert and use it in the bedroom at night and sometimes in the living, dinning and kitchen area during the day so I don't have to cool the entire house. It cools about 500 square fee efficiently when the temperature outside is under 100. This is the best investment I made for making my summer more pleasant and cool. My husband is sleeping better in 90 degree weather since we use this portable air conditioner in our bedroom We live in Deep South Texas. This unit exceed my expectations We got this for our kids room upstairs and it cools our 12 X 20 room quickly. The kids took their blankets. It's so easy to put this together! I made a good investment! Just need to get my rebate!!! We were looking for a portable AC and we got it. Have only used it two days. I can feel a difference in other rooms as well as the room it is in. It was easy to set up and to move to another location. We live in Virginia where the weather is pretty humid. Our AC unit stopped working so we though a less expensive alternative would be this product. We bought 2 units for our 1680 sq ft townhouse. One unit we placed on the main floor in the living room. Not only did it cool our living room, but also the kitchen, hallway, powder room and dining room. That area is about 560 sq ft. The inside temp went from 82 to 70 in 36 hours. We now leave it on 76 all day long and it feels GREAT!! The other unit we use upstairs. The sq footage is the same at about 560 and we have 2 bathroom and 3 bedrooms. I placed it in the guest room facing the hallway and leave the master bedroom and other bedroom doors open and it works wonderfully. It is very simple to install.

I don't know how much our electric bill will increase but I don't imagine it would be as much as when our central AC unit was in service.I certainly do RECOMMEND this product!! We purchased this AC unit after one 90 degree day. It arrived very quickly and is a breeze toset up. It is as heavy as advertised and I would suggest that due to it's weight, stairs be negotiated by two people and that it's best touse on a single story. We have a rambler andwood floors. Now, when we get over 70 degrees again, I'll review it's cooling. Love Love Love my new air conditioner.... just had an addition put on to my bedroom & didn't want to run air ducts..this was the best purchase! It's quiet, was easy to assemble 5-10 minutes top !And it instantly cooled my rooms.... this is a keeper!
