Not in desired mode, heat or cool setting at the thermostat. Ac unit or fan/furnace breaker off or tripped. Plugged furnace or air handler return filter. No heat with a gas furnace, check for gas being off. Turn thermostat to off, wait five minutes, and set to desired setting. Did it restart and operate properly ? No,  Next  turn power off to system, wait five minutes and power back on. Start and run correctly ? By doing the above you just did a soft and a hard  reset of the operating board. Power problem cpu fan run no display I have this motherboard p5g41t-m lx3 only show green light when u turn it on no signal on screen cpu fan is running Computer powers on but no signal to monitor [Solved] Computer Powers On But Does Not Boot & Fans Don't Spin [Solved] Jun 18, 2009 06:02PM Had the same problem with an HP Pavilion PC. Called tech support and they resolved the issue. They had me unplug everything to the machine, including the power cable. Then, I had to hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Apparently, this drains all power that is stored and rests something. I thought the guy was just following his checklist, but you can imagine how surprised I was when my computer booted up. Jul 18, 2010 10:48AM I had this exact problem yesterday where the CPU fan came on like a jet engine and the PC didn't start and the monmitor was blank. I simply opened the case, blew out ALL the dust bunnies, in the case and on all the boards and heatsink, fans etc, reseated all the power supply cables/connectors, especially the main pcb fan and 20 pin connector on the main pcb.
When I plugged it back in, everything was fine. Just clean all the dust from the heatsinks and reseat all the connectors. I did not fool around with the cpu or thermal paste etc. Jul 7, 2010 11:29PM I had the same problem with my old Dell and a new desktop. I think it was the problem with Tuneup Utilities program. In my old Dell, I removed the battery from motherboard. For my new desktop, I noticed the fans running were not CPU fans. They were the side and back fan. Actually, the CPU fan was off. It did not turn on when I tried to restart the system from sleep mode. I did the following: 1) unplug all cables 2) unplug CPU fan wire from the motherboard 3) plug CPU fan wire again 4) Turn it on and the side and back fans turn back to normal Aug 9, 2009 12:36AMThought it was motherboard, happened once before and I had motherboard replaced. 30 seconds and all better now. Aug 5, 2009 12:05AM Thank you KEVDMD (above) for your thoughtful consideration in writing your post.
I was installing new memory (in Gateway PC) and thought the computer was shut down when it was actually in hibernation mode. I shut down when I was done and couldn't boot back up. Fan's were running and power was on, but nothing else. Based on a few Google searches and subsequent forum discussions I came to the conclusion that I needed to reset the motherboard/bios via the pull battery method. UNTIL I read kevdmd's post above. Instead, I decided to pull the power chord in the back and drain all juice to the motherboard. After, I booted up and heard 3 beeps. Now i'm getting somewhere! I shut down again and ...I couldn't be happier to hear Vista's startup theme! Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue. Refrigerator not blowing cold air?
Your refrigerator lights are on, you can hear the fan blowing air in the refrigerator, but the air is not cold. If this is your situation, then the repair is probably going to be a reasonably easy DIY job. When your refrigerator has working lights, the inner fan (or blower) inside the fridge is still blowing and the air is room temperature, then possibly the problem is the Compressor Start Relay. The start relay is a small device mounted to the side of the compressor. It provides power to the winding for a split second at start up to help the compressor run. The other component that may have failed could be the Start Capacitor. The start capacitor acts almost like a battery to give the compressor a small boost during power up.The purpose of this guide is to give you some options to check yourself. The parts explained above may or may not be your issue but it is worth looking into before calling a repairman. If you are not comfortable with removing and replacing parts on your refrigerator, then call a repairman.
The relay and the capacitor are what help start the compressor. The compressor is what produces the cold air to cool your refrigerator. If one of these two parts are faulty, then the compressor will not run and therefore there can be no cold air. The refrigerator can be on but if the compressor is not running the air will not be cold inside your refrigerator. This is a very common reason why most refrigerators stop cooling but keep blowing air.If you hear a clicking sound coming from the back of the fridge, then the compressor start relay is most likely working properly and is not the issue. If this is the case then the next most likely part that has gone bad is the start capacitor. These 2 parts are cheap and can be found at appliance stores and home improvement stores, even local smaller hardware stores should have some basic parts. Refrigerator compressor parts can also be found online and at extremely reasonable prices. How to replace relay and or capacitor on a refrigeratorWe recommend unplugging the refrigerator from power and sliding it out from the wall.
Remove the panel on the back bottom of the fridge and visually inspect the start relay and capacitor for signs of damage. You may find signs of melting or burned areas. These parts will be on the side of the compressor. Test the start capacitor first with a capacitance meter and the start relay. If one of these parts is burned, melted, etc, and you don’t have a meter, then you can either call a repairman, go buy a multimeter, order the part online, or remove the part and take the part with you to an appliance store and match it up with the same part. How to install a universal relay on your refrigerator compressorThere can be other issues why your refrigerator is not blowing cold air such as a bad compressor, bad temperature control thermostat, dirty condenser coils, or even the main control board may be defective. (There is a refrigerator troubleshooting guide here that can help you even further if needed.) If the Condenser Fan Motor was defective, (the blower fan in the refrigerator) then you would NOT hear it running/blowing.
