Australian Curriculum: History reference – Depth Study 2 The Asia Pacific World, Angkor/Khmer Empire (c. 802- c. 1431) The Year 8 program: the Asia-Pacific world – Angkor (PDF, 105 KB) outlines a series of 21 lessons. The learning sequence in this unit selects lessons 8-12 from this program and suggests how they might be approached. A rich collection of source material is provided, as well as instructions for teachers seeking guidance in working with historical sources. While the learning sequence deals with lessons 8-12, the following resources have been provided to support activities suggested in other lessons in the program: Pyramids of Angkor (PPT, 4.4 MB) – lessons 1-2 Angkorpedia research template (PDF, 144 KB) – lessons 1-2 and 16-17 Comparative timeline of Khmer Empire and Europe (PDF, 185 KB) – lessons 3-5 Teacher reference glossary (XLS, 82 KB) – lessons 3-5 Inscriptions about kings (PDF, 193 KB) – lessons 6-7 Moving stone blocks (Slide show) – lessons 13-15

The initial focus of the unit was on outcomes research led by Dr Paul Clifford.
In 2000 Professor Steve Pilling became the Director, and since that time the unit has focused on three main areas: 1. The development of Clinical Guidelines 2. The evaluation of complex interventions in Mental Health 3. The evaluation and development of psychological interventions We are sorry that you have encountered an error. Return to Home Page.In collaboration with colleagues at other Universities we have developed PRECIS-2, which is a tool to help trialists match their trial design decisions to the needs of the intended users of the trial results. PRECIS-2 has nine domains—eligibility criteria, recruitment, setting, organisation, flexibility (delivery), flexibility (adherence), follow-up, primary outcome, and primary analysis—scored from 1 (very explanatory design approach) to 5 (very pragmatic design approach) to facilitate domain discussion and consensus.
A description of PRECIS-2 can be found in Loudon K, Treweek S, Sullivan F, Donnan P, Thorpe KE, Zwarenstein M. The PRECIS-2 tool: designing trials that are fit for purpose.  Version 2 of the sample size calculator is in development.  Please email Graeme MacLennan (g.maclennan@abdn.ac.uk) for a beta version. The instruction manual for this program can be downloaded as a pdf file at the link below. A further description of the calculator can be found in Campbell MK, Thomson S, Ramsay CR, MacLennan GS, Grimshaw JM. Sample size calculator for cluster randomised trials. Comput Biol Med 2004;34:113-125. If you have any queries about the calculator, please contact Graeme MacLennan (g.maclennan@abdn.ac.uk). A downloadable excel spreadsheet contains a list of intra-correlation coefficient calculated from a number of different interventions and settings. Also downloadable, is a list of references for the data contained in the spreadsheet. A flowchart was developed by the HTA Contamination in trials project to aid the decision on when a cluster randomised controlled trial might be preferred to a patient randomised controlled trial when contamination of controls are suspected.
