Heat Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) is the most commonly used measure of a heat pump's heating efficiency. The higher the HSPF, the more efficient the heat pump. The ARI certified reference number, also known as the AHRI reference number, is important because it proves that equipment meets the energy efficiency standards of Con Edison programs. The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) rates the efficiency of appliances and assigns the ARI reference number. The ARI reference number is the first number listed on the certificate of products rating. Yes, but it will delay the processing of your rebate application. The energy efficiency ratings, including the certified reference number, must be documented in order to receive a Con Edison rebate. An electronically commutated motor or ECM, is a high-efficiency electric motor. It can be used to power a fan in a whole-house heating and/or cooling system. No, but you can get the extra ECM rebate if it is installed with an air-source heat pump or natural gas furnace. The customer should fill out the information on the front side of the form and the contractor should complete the information on the front as well as all the technical information requested on the back of the form. Six to eight weeks. It will definitely take longer if information is missing from the rebate form. So please make sure your contractor fills in all the required technical information. You can receive a rebate from Con Edison, participate in the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program, and also receive federal tax credits.

However, you cannot receive rebates for the same piece of equipment or measure from Con Edison and NYSERDA. You can receive incentives on different qualified equipment or measures from local and state programs, and you can receive a federal tax credit on many energy efficiency measures installed. You might also contact your contractor or the equipment manufacturer about coupons or rebates on specific energy efficiency equipment. These energy efficiency programs will be offered through 2016. Rebates will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Con Edison reserves the right to amend or terminate this offer. Our energy efficiency programs are funded through the New York State System Benefits Charge, paid by electric and gas distribution customers of Con Edison for public policy programs such as energy efficiency.
