Our central A/C had quit 2 years before, and we were melting. We had window units in the bedrooms, but the living room was still hot.

We bought this unit at a local big box "club" store about a year or two ago as it was sitting on their open box shelf but perfectly packaged. The unit seems to work OK but the exhaust hose won't stay on.That means it actually will heat up the house. works perfect and other unit has been returned thank you. Returned.....big heavy piece of junk. This should have been checked before trying to sell it. Very good when you need it in summer like in winter Works great would buy another one. The air conditioner works fine except for the exhaust hose. It does not stay attached to the a/c unit and the window attachment. It uses a regular outlet, and was no fuss to set up. The unit doesn't weigh much, and it doesn't stick out a window which is great because we like the natural light. The dehumidifier, evaporates the moisture, and puts it out the window, and I never had to use the drain on it until this year. The air in my home went out, and I used it to cool a large area and I had to drain it (once). The unit did a great job, and unlike anything I have seen before, it NEVER froze up. I am thankful to have it, and would tell anyone to purchase this unit. The heat on mine is not used often, and has only been used in my fore mentioned building. With that said, it has done a great job. Seems able to cool a down a 1000 sq foot room to a comfortable temp .Im pleased with the unit and the price was in our range when compared with in window units and as we would had to replace the window to accomindate a new unit the portable was a cheaper and easier option ,considering smaller units for other rooms. I did the installation from the window start up the machine set the mode for heating cycle, warm air begin to blow from louver but cool air was blowing out of the back of the machine from the vents and where the filter is located. Then it shut down, I restart it, it function in the same matter. I shut it off. Monday morning I contact the manufacturer concerning the issue I explained the problem also that there is no information in the trouble shooting section for the heating operation.

The exhaust hose is very annoying to set up. Once it is on, it wants to pop out the exhaust hose cover. The teeth on the adaptor are very fragile and will break. Some windows are different, so if you don't have the right type of window the cover wont fit right. The hose itself gets so hot you can feel the heat it is putting off just by standing beside it. The cooling on it is very weak. None of the dials are labeled so you can't even tell what is cool, heat or fan untill you open the book. Better off buying a window unit.
