So much fun putting together this power supply kit! Depends on what you're looking for here. $60, fine for a kit project but the circuit board is pretty crappy. Lots of fun building this kit. I built this and it was so much fun I finished it and it works great Very nice kit to construct. Lots of fun and not overly hard.It's the trickiest thru-hole construction that I've done so far because soldering the connections to the ICs on the heatsink is tricky. Went together without too much hassle. Directions were very good. As others have commented the heat sink is somewhat of a pain to assemble. In attempting the positive voltage check I was unable to adjust it in accordance with specs in the manual. Further checking I determined the LM-317 was defective. The 4700uF capacitor that came with the kit was undersized with a 16V rating. It was smaller than the 2200u'F (35V) capacitors adjacent to it on the board and was much smaller than... I built this before my coffee one morning, and I managed to let some of the magic smoke out of one of the discrete components.

It still mostly works, but the 5V rail is off.
