(July 15, 2016) — Bosch Automotive Service Solutions has unveiled its Robinair-brand 34988NI Premium A/C Recovery Machine, designed to assist technicians and fleet owners conducting air-conditioning recovery work.

The machine recovers, recycles, evacuates, leak tests and recharges vehicle systems quickly and accuracy, the company said. It is designed for use with R-134a. Bosch said the 34988NI is the only fully automatic machine on the market and can recover, vacuum, leak test, and charge on its own, eliminating the need to monitor the machine while in operation. The patented Automatic Refrigerant Refill automatically maintains a sufficient supply of refrigerant in its internal tank for vehicle service and alerts technicians when it’s time to change the supply, the company said. The 34988NI also automatically will add oil if necessary, by using load cells to measure the amount of oil removed from the system. The machine can inject UV dye into the vehicle's A/C system to locate leaks that are difficult to see. An optional refrigerant charge and oil capacities database is available for North American market vehicles, saving time from having to look up unknown charge amounts and oil capacities, the company said.
