I like to sleep in a cool bedroom year round (about 65 degrees is perfect for me). And for those of you who don’t know it, Dallas, Texas gets really hot in the summertime. Best portable AC, I can't believe Japan was still building these, this is my second purchase after two years of use of the first one. Very versatile, but cooling capacity is lacking for the amount of BTUs you are purchasing. If you want it primarily for an AC unit- STAY AWAY!! I own operate a Toyotomi 1700 since 1996. Unit still works as new 20 years later.The TAD-T40LW heats/cools well for my application and there's no condensatetank to... My partner and I agree this is one of the best purchases we have made in years.Cools beautifully, heats in the winter. I've been using this for summer AND winter in my bedroom. The air conditioner and heater both work equally well. It IS a tad loud, but the temperature is always comfortable. Really puts out heat or cool air.
